As the NHS turns 70, NHS England are placing nursing, midwifery and care staff at the very centre of national celebrations and on 3 July, four regional events will recognise the remarkable contribution nursing, midwifery and care staff have made to our NHS over the last seven decades and look to the next 70 years.
Each event will launch with a live streamed opening speech from Professor Jane Cummings, Chief Nursing Officer for England. This will immediately be followed by an opportunity for us all to link together, ask questions and reflect on our amazing achievements. Following the key note speech, Teresa Chinn MBE will join the live stream to showcase many innovative blogs written by nurses and midwives as part of our national #70nursebloggers and #70midwifebloggers initiative, launched by Professor Jane Cummings on Tuesday 24 April.
Delegate attendance at the actual events is limited but Professor Cummings’ speech and Teresa Chinn’s blogging session can be viewed live at 09:45-10:45am on the website using any internet connected device using the following link: https://www.england.nhs.uk/livestreams/
The four regional events will take place at the following locations:
London: The Royal Horticultural Halls, 80 Vincent Square London SW1P 2PE
South: Reading Old Town Hall, Blagrave St, Reading RG1 1QH
Midlands and East: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Wollaton St, Nottingham NG1 5RH
North: York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Knavesmire Road, York YO23 1EX
The events will also be tweeting throughout the day, each one having a dedicated hashtag and using the national #NHS70 hashtag as well to collate the discussion.
If you use twitter, you can follow and contribute to the discussion on the day using #NHS70. In addition, if you are attending any of the regional events or would like to recognise or contribute to a specific discussion or session online, you can use the regional hashtag as well:
