More than 80,000 staff from 43 NHS workplaces across London took part in the capital’s first Healthy Living Week last year and we want to make 2017 even bigger and better.
Healthy Living Week provides a platform for hospital charities, NHS organisations and their partners to work together and offer events and activities to staff that promote workplace health and support people to be healthy and happy.
Salsa dancing, smoothie bike racing, lunch time walks and mindfulness classes were just some of the 250 activities and events offered to NHS staff during Healthy Living Week 2016. It was the first time NHS organisations in London teamed up en-masse to focus on workplace health.
We are now inviting NHS organisations, their partners and local communities to sign up for Healthy Living Week 2017 which will run from Monday 25 to Friday 29 September 2017.
This year we’re also encouraging organisations to consider whether any activities and events they run could potentially continue on a regular basis and support staff to be healthy in the workplace all year around.
As well as NHS organisations, we are also encouraging other organisations in London to join Healthy Living Week 2017.
Please sign up today to receive your Healthy Living Week starter pack. The pack provides a quick and easy guide to running a successful and exiting Healthy Living Week, whether you work in a CCG, hospital ward, GP surgery or in a team delivering health care in the community.
It includes ideas for different events and activities you can hold and tips on how to start planning and getting organised.
To help you promote Healthy Living Week to staff in your organisation we will also provide a communications toolkit with template posters, tweets and a media release which can be tailored to your organisation.
We can also provide assistance with engagement and access to a central resource hub.
Join us to help celebrate the importance of being healthy and happy in the workplace during Healthy Living Week 2017.
