Recommendations actions to take

  • Support the development of a workforce that is confident and competent at delivering physical health checks for people with serious mental illness (SMI), and can refer patients on to services as required.
  • Develop cross-sector staffing models to deliver screening, monitoring and evidence based treatments.
  • Deliver a training plan and standardised screening tools and protocols to support co-working and uptake of physical health assessments and shared treatment plans.
