Young people friendly practice

Young people are among those least satisfied with visits to their GP. They can have difficulty expressing themselves, often feel misunderstood by their GPs and have the shortest consultation times. It is crucial for young people to have a positive experience at their GP clinic so they feel encouraged to visit their GP with any issues before they severely affect their health.

Use our resources and see examples from other practices to help make your practice friendlier to young people.

We have a quick 12-step guide on young people friendly practice developed by the Association for Young People’s Health (AYPH) as well as GP champions for youth health project.
