This page has information on parity of esteem in the form of a video of a debate on the topic, a briefing note, plans for implementation and overviews on the different aspects of the subject.

Since 2012, the Government has established that the NHS carries a responsibility to deliver parity of esteem – in other words valuing both physical and mental health equally. The debate video, the guidelines for implementation of Parity of Esteem, brief overviews, and reports have been created by the teams at the Royal College of Nurses, Department of Health, Centre for Mental Health, UK Parliament, and NHS East Midlands Mental Health Clinical Networks respectively.

Visit the Royal College of Nurses website to watch the debate video.
