A stocktake of U&EC services within each network has been undertaken, complemented by existing information from the primary care at-scale baselining survey, 111 programme, and a recent mental crisis care baseline survey in emergency departments.

The Urgent and Emergency Care Review: End of Phase 1 Report set out a vision for transforming urgent and emergency care (U&EC) services to ensure patients are provided with urgent care in services as close to home as possible, whilst also ensuring patients with more serious or life threatening emergencies receive treatment in centres with the right facilities and expertise.

A key recommendation of the report was the development of U&EC Networks to be responsible for creating and agreeing an overarching, medium to long-term plan to deliver the objectives of the U&EC Review; designating urgent care facilities within the network to ensure equitable access to diagnostics and services for both physical and mental health; and ensuring effective patient flow through the whole urgent care system.

To support this a stocktake of U&EC services within each network has been undertaken, complemented by existing information from the primary care at scale baselining survey, 111 programme, and a recent mental crisis care baseline survey in Emergency Departments. Specifically the stocktake aimed to:

• Consider current service offering in light of the U&EC review and developing London facilities specifications
• Support and enable Networks plan for the designation of U&EC facilities within networks
• Support the development of pan-London support on enablers for the U&EC system
