Learning: Innovative rotational nurse programmes for better crisis care

Last year our mental health crisis care programme supported four London mental health trusts on innovative rotational nursing programmes for staff at A&Es and Health Based Place of Safety sites. A whole council approach to gambling
Gambling is often described as a ‘hidden addiction’ and problem gambling is now recognised as a complex public health issue that has an impact on individuals, families, and communities. This guidance outlines the areas in which public health can add value and support local gambling policies.

Physical activity: encouraging activity within the general population
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is currently developing the topic outline for a new quality standard on physical activity and behaviour change. This consultation asks for suggestions on five key areas for quality improvement that would have the greatest potential to improve the quality of care in this area. The closing date for submissions is 11 September 2018.

National paediatric diabetes audit
The National Paediatric Diabetes Audit was established to compare the care and outcomes of all children and young people with diabetes receiving care from paediatric diabetes units in England and Wales. The latest report highlights the main findings from 2016-17.

NHS choices in now www.NHS.uk
As part of a programme of work to improve its services, NHS Digital has rebranded the ‘NHS Choices’ website as the NHS website (www.nhs.uk). The NHS website will continue to provide information to help people manage their health and care online. This NHS Digital guidance gives information and advice on the changes organisations will need to make to their own print and digital materials when signposting patients and the public to this site.
