What’s new?

Social Prescribing in secondary care: how to guide

In his recent vision for prevention, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock MP said, “We need to change the mind set from condition management to health creation.” One way to do this is through complementary, evidence-based approaches such as Social Prescribing.

Commissioned by Healthy London Partnership, Family Action has produced a guide that will support you to efficiently and effectively commission, implement and deliver Social Prescribing services in secondary care.

London estates: transformation update

London has some of the world’s most advanced health and care facilities, but at the same time, many of our health and care buildings are in need of repair, or are no longer fit for purpose.

Case study: Tackling health inequalities with the London Choosing Wisely programme

In December 2017, London’s CCG Accountable Officers commissioned a series of clinical expert working groups to inform the harmonisation of clinical commissioning policies for a limited number of specific treatments.

The aim was to ensure that Londoners have equal access to these treatments across London, to make sure they are used consistently, and that their use follows criteria that improves the health of patients.
