The pledge:

Pledge by London Sport

1) Recently launch the first Sport Technology start up hub in London. We would be keen to support the development of a movement to make volunteering more accessible through digital and technological solutions.
2) Have a network with reach across this infrastructure to provide ongoing training and support; we would be keen to develop a programme that utilises this infrastructure to not just support Londoners to be more active but provides them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to address other health challenges.
3)Have been working closely with Healthy London Partnership on connecting social prescribing initiatives to the London physical activity offer and would be keen to support the Mayor on ensuring the social prescribing forms part of community support across London and we work towards a more consistent approach.

Changes made:

1) Recently launch the first Sport Technology start up hub in London. We would be keen to support the development of a movement to make volunteering more accessible through digital and technological solutions.
2) Have a network with reach across this infrastructure to provide ongoing training and support; we would be keen to develop a programme that utilises this infrastructure to not just support Londoners to be more active but provides them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to address other health challenges. This was part of wider statement that highlighted that ‘investment would enable to this to happen’. If there is not a commitment for investment then it is not something London Sport could commit to pursue on our own. Would therefore suggest that this statement is deleted or if a commitment could be made to identify resources we would be willing to work with you to revise the pledge (I have copied in Dean Nevill who leads on this work area at London Sport)
3)Have been working closely with Healthy London Partnership on connecting social prescribing initiatives to the London physical activity offer and would be keen to support the Mayor on ensuring the social prescribing forms part of community support across London and we work towards a more consistent approach.
