NHS Go takes home ‘Championing the Public’ award at PEN

23rd March 2017

NHS Go, a health app created by young people for young people, was shortlisted for two categories in the patient experience network awards; Championing the Public and Innovative use of Social Media/Technology.

The patient experience national network awards are the first patient experience awards recognising and celebrating the outstanding delivery of patient experience in health and social care.

On the 21st March 2017 two representatives from the Children and Young People’s team attended the award ceremony at the Birmingham rep theatre. The event announced the winners of the 16 categories, the overall winner and some on the day spot prizes. NHS Go was announced a winner for the category of Championing the Public and were given an opportunity to present their project to the attendees at the conference.

There was also an opportunity to display our work in the exhibition area and talk to the attendees about the app and encourage them to promote it in their area. Throughout the day there were plenty of opportunities to share best practice, talk about the app and understand what other areas were doing in their areas. We also had a great presence on social media getting 400,000 impressions for tweets in relation to NHS Go.

You can download NHS Go from the App Store and Google Play for free.
