This Integrated Care in Action week [9-15 March 2020] will be a week dedicated to showcasing the best practice and learning as health and care systems work towards becoming integrated care systems.
The NHS Long Term Plan requires Integrated Care Systems to be in place by April 2021. The London Mental Health in Integrated Care Systems (MHICS) programme is a London-wide programme that strives to make the case for, and to understand the value of, mental health as part of integrated care systems development.
The programme has developed a self-assessment tool for use by partners within emerging ICSs to understand and take a view of the degree to which mental health across all ages is appropriately embedded within their developing ICS architecture.
It is intended to evolve as integrated care systems learn and mature to inform discussions and can be used as a platform for local action.
