Healthy London Partnership, working on behalf of London CCGs, has been asked to present at a number of sessions and workshops at the Health and Care Innovation Expo in Manchester on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 September.
If you are attending the Expo please pop along to any of the presentations and workshops to say hello and find out more. Sessions and workshops:
The future of digital healthcare for children and young people
As leaders in improving health services for children and young people, we have been asked to present alongside Professor Sir Bruce Keogh and Jane Cummings at a special meeting of the National Quality Board and NHS Youth Forum which will focus on young people as future users of digital health services. Tracy Parr, Head of our Children and Young People Programme, will present our work on improving services through the use of digital technology. This includes the launch of London’s first app for children and young people, NHS Go, and work to develop a digital health passport for young Londoners, which will launch initially for children with asthma. The session will be held on Monday at 3.30pm in Theatre Room 1.
The London Mental Health Dashboard: creating transparency and transformation with data
London is the first global city to have a comprehensive dashboard for mental health services, which was launched by Healthy London Partnership in October 2016. George Howard, Head of our Mental Health Programme, will join Steve Watkins, Director of NHS Benchmarking, to talk about how the mental health dashboard was developed. The dashboard is currently being used by over 500 users across London to create transparency, highlight variations in the mental health system and promote discussions between providers and commissioners. The workshop session will include a demonstration of the dashboard. The presentation and workshop will be held at PUU7 on Tuesday at 10am.
Launch of s136 pathway and Health Based Place of Safety specification for London
Our mental health crisis care programme project officers, Olivia Carmichael and Lisa Burgess, will be on hand at the Expo’s Urgent and Emergency Care Feature Zone to talk about the pan-London Section 136 Pathway and Health Based Place of Safety specification guidance. The mental health crisis care guidance was launched at the end of last year by London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Our team will be talking to delegates about what we are doing this year to support the NHS and all partners working with people in crisis to improve care for some of London’s most vulnerable residents. They will be speaking to delegates between 10.30am and 11.30am on Monday.
London 111 Patient Relationship Manager and winter improvement pilots
Eileen Sutton, Head of our Urgent and Emergency Care Programme, will join our Integrated Urgent Care Digital Clinical Lead, Dr Phil Koczan, Agile Project Manager Craig Tucker and Programme Manager Mark Bamlett, to run an interactive demonstration of the digital tools supporting greater access to 111 and integrated urgent care services across London. These include our award winning NHS 111 Patient Relationship Manager, the 111 Online tool, healthcare professional access to GP clinical support via 111, Care Closer to Home, digital innovations reducing impact on A&E and the London Ambulance Service. The demonstration will take place at the Urgent and Emergency Care Feature Zone between 2.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday.
The Urgent and Emergency Care Improvement Collaborative
Eileen Sutton, Head of our Urgent and Emergency Care Programme, will be presenting on the Urgent and Emergency Care Improvement Collaborative, which was launched in July to support all relevant London partners to deliver the ambitious urgent and emergency care agenda. The collaborative actively supports local systems to deliver change and build the necessary capacity and capability to sustain those changes; growing leadership in local health and care systems, and developing a culture of continuous improvement with patients, carers and the public at its heart. Eileen will be speaking at 9.30am on Tuesday at the Urgent and Emergency Care Feature Zone.
The London Health and Care Information Exchange
We are working to connect up all health and care providers across London using a pan-London digital interoperability initiative called the The London Health and Care Information Exchange. It is of national significance because it is the first initiative in the NHS to interlink existing exchanges across a large-scale population. Mike Part, Chief Information and Technology Officer, NHS England London Region, will present our work, outlining how the exchange will be delivered in the coming months and the strategic approaches taken. The session will be held on Monday at 9.30am in the mini-theatre of the NHS England stand.
