About this event
An event in partnership with the King’s Fund to help shape the way that London takes forward its work as a member of the global Fast-Track Cities Initiative.
In January 2018, London formally joined the Fast-Track Cities Initiative (FTCI) with the aim of strengthening the response to HIV infection across the capital. The Mayor of London, London Councils, Public Health England and NHS England came together to pledge to reduce new HIV infections, eliminate HIV-associated stigma, reduce HIV-related deaths and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV across London by 2030.
The task now is to make this historic pledge a reality for Londoners.
A small London FTCI ‘Kick-Start Group’ has begun work. The Healthy London Partnership and The King’s Fund will be holding an event on 13 July 2018 that will bring together people, organisations and communities with an interest or stake in HIV in London.
Please note this is an invitation-only event and places are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are unable to attend, but would like to nominate a deputy in your place, please contact Jess Drummond at jess.drummond@nhs.net.
The event will be a dynamic, interactive ‘working conference’ – to hear from you, however you are involved with the issue of HIV within the capital.
This event will be the first of its kind – bringing together a London-wide community of interest to share, explore and network to create shared ambitions and measures of success for the FTCI work based around the ambitions of ‘Getting to Zero’.
During the day your views and feedback will be sought on:
- a proposed process to establish a London FTCI steering group
- the London FTCI ‘dashboard’ which will be soft launched at the event
- ways to ensure that everyone involved is kept up to date and engaged in the work of the FTCI.
There will be opportunities for you to hear about and have input into a London-wide HIV asset and gap analysis. This piece of work will be key in informing future decisions on the approach and focus areas for the London FTCI and will support the formulation of an action plan.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity after the event for informal networking in the bar area at The King’s Fund.
