NHS England London in collaboration with the London Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) commissioned us to undertake an options appraisal of future site operating models for the Havens, London’s sexual assault referral centre (SARC) and deliver a feasibility study to test our recommendations with partners and service users.

Drawing on our specialist expertise in working with vulnerable people, service commissioning and strategy, and pathways redesign and implementation, we mapped existing services and activities, engaged with stakeholders to understand challenges, constraints, and potential improvements with the existing model, and undertook a detailed analysis of current and future demand, capacity, and the needs of people requiring services.

Extensive research, a robust mixed method evaluation, and collaboration with criminal justice pathway and service users enabled us to develop an options appraisal for future service delivery, including recommendations for an integrated, shared-care, end-to-end pathway centred on the client experience.

The impact of our work

The recommendations were validated, supported, approved, and are now being implemented.
