Victor Lo, 60, a police community support officer with the Met Police, says:

“I got my first bowel cancer screening test shortly after my 60th birthday and I did it the next day, because I knew bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK.

“It was simple and easy to do! I just followed the instructions inside the box, within two minutes, all done. I sent the test kit back to NHS (free post) and that was it.

“The test is free and it is not painful, I am glad that NHS are providing this service, I appreciate it.

“I strongly recommend everyone who is entitled to take the test to take it. Early detection can protect yourself and your family.”
