The London Ask About Asthma campaign is on again this year from 3 to 16 September. The dates coincide with the return to school and peak hospital admissions for asthma. The goal is to have children and young people and the people who care for them asking simple questions to make sure they are managing their asthma.
ASK: Do I have an asthma management plan? This helps identify the right colour inhaler and dosage and when to seek emergency help.
ASK: Can I use my inhaler properly?
ASK: Have I had my annual asthma review?
We are also encouraging NHS trusts to pledge to do what they can to reduce pollution, which is a trigger for asthma. An NHS guide to reducing air pollution has been created that describes free steps to take to reduce the impact:
Toolkit for NHS Trusts: Supporting the NHS to reduce its impact on air pollution
We will be promoting the campaign across London from 3 September 2018. We’re encouraging London’s NHS Trusts and CCG to support it, by re-tweeting or sharing more details across your local networks.
